Snowdon 500 - The 2008
event
We would like to thank everyone who
took part in the 2008 Snowdon 500 Challenge. Sponsorship funds
raised for the prostate Cancer Research Centre exceeded a staggering total of £160,000 - a magnificent
achievement that will make an enormous contribution to the
continuing crusade to improve the prospects of men with prostate
cancer and take us that bit closer in the quest to find a cure.
450 walkers from all
parts of the UK converged on the village of Llanberis in North
Wales to take part in the first Snowdon 500 Challenge. The weather
was fairly kind although somewhat misty and chilly at the summit
but everyone managed to complete the challenge successfully and
arrive back down tired but safe. A few completed the course in a
little over 3 hours ( and swear they didn't catch the train down) but
everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we as organisers
are proud of everyone of them.
